Listen Like a Seed
Many of us yearn for a slower, more nourishing rhythm to life.
At the very least, we long for a break from all the doing and noise.
But how do we pause and get all of life done?
What might emerge from our lives, or need to change, if we slowed down?
These are rich, life-giving questions to explore in community.
We don’t have to go it alone.
A six-week group workshop: reconnecting to what matters
“The courage of the seed is that, once cracking, it cracks all the way. To move through the dark into blossom is the work of soul.”
We live in a modern world, steadily inundated with information and opinion.
It can feel like we’ve lost our balance and clarity, and most certainly our sense of peace.
Even if we don’t yet hear the question, a wise part of us might be asking: What here really matters?
Even if we don’t yet hear the question, it might be showing up in our fatigue, overwhelm, or avoidance.
How do we answer questions of meaning?
What does it take to listen?
How might we learn to listen in ways that nourish and sustain us?
WHAT TO EXPECT:
drop below the surface of doing.
Within a circle of like-minded meaning seekers, we’ll direct our attention beneath the surface of everyday living to explore the seeds ripening within each of us, questions of meaning, soulfulness, satisfaction, and connection in our lives.
Each circle includes:
Short grounding meditation
Brief personal check-ins
A reading from Nepo’s book to highlight the current theme
Prompts to inspire journaling, plus questions
Sharing in dyads and in the larger group
Logistics:
Six sessions
7-8:30 pm PST
$167 for all 6 sessions or $33 per session
Dates for fall 2026 coming soon. Please add your name to be notified by email.
This workshop combines qualities and practices of a book group, journaling/free writing, meditation, and group inquiry.
As a guide to deepen our listening and inquiry, we’ll use prompts from Mark Nepo’s beautiful book, Seven Thousand Ways to Listen: Staying Close to What is Sacred.
You’ll come away from each session:
More connected to a deeper, wiser self
Inspired by fresh perspective, guidance, and rich dialogue
With a sense of belonging, knowing you’re not alone
Relieved and nourished from shared authenticity
Renewed to engage in your life with more clarity and intention
“It seems that the feel of truth and meaning waits below the surface, and it’s the heart of listening that allows the life-force in all things to touch us. It’s our ability to listen that saves us from the sheer fact of things.”
